Something coming from our network should not be.

This page is for people outside NovaNode: you are being scanned, spammed or attacked from one of our addresses, or you found content on a service we host that you consider illegal. One address, one procedure.

Is it ours?

NovaNode runs AS199839. If the RIPE database shows that AS number as the origin of the address or prefix, the report belongs here: apps.db.ripe.net. Addresses announced by other networks are not ours, even when a reverse DNS name mentions a customer of ours.

Customers with a problem on their own service do not use this page; open a ticket from the client area so that it lands with your account. Open a ticket

What to send

Write to abuse[at]novanode.eu. A report we can act on contains:

  1. Your contact details, so we can ask a question or confirm the outcome.
  2. The address, URL, domain or account reference involved, enough for us to find the service.
  3. For network abuse (scans, attacks, brute force, spam): timestamps in UTC, source and destination addresses and ports, and a log excerpt. For spam, the complete message with all headers.
  4. For illegal content: the legal ground on which you consider it illegal, and a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete. This is the notice format of Section 6.9.4 of our Terms of Service, which follows the Digital Services Act.
  5. Plain text or a PDF. Links to third-party portals that need a login do not help.

What happens next

Processing
Notices are processed without undue delay, diligently and proportionately, with regard to the nature of what is reported and the rights of everyone involved (Terms of Service 6.9.4).
The customer is told
The customer whose service is involved receives a security or abuse notice and must respond within 48 hours (Terms of Service 6.11.2). Where we remove or restrict content or an account, the customer receives a statement of reasons and information on review and redress.
No response
If the customer does not respond within that period, or the problem continues, we take proportionate protective action, which can go as far as suspending or isolating the service (Terms of Service 6.11.4).
Immediate threats
Traffic involved in a DDoS attack, amplification, spoofing, scanning or a compromise can be null-routed, filtered or rate-limited at once, without prior notice to the customer (Terms of Service 6.9.3).
