Last updated: 21 October 2026. Published under Article 28 of Directive (EU) 2022/2555 (NIS2) and Article 18 of the Luxembourg law of 5 May 2026 transposing it. Referenced in Section 5.1.7 of the Terms of Service and Section 3.3 of the Privacy Policy.
1. Scope
NovaNode provides domain name registration services as a reseller: the registration is placed with the registry of the top-level domain through an accredited registrar, and NovaNode is the customer's point of contact for it. This page states which registration data NovaNode collects, how it is verified, which part of it is public, and how a person with a legitimate interest obtains the rest.
2. Registration data
For every domain name NovaNode holds:
- the registrant: name or organisation, postal address, e-mail address and telephone number;
- the administrative and technical contact, which is the account holder unless the customer names someone else;
- the registration date, the renewal and expiry dates, the nameservers and the registrar of record.
The data is taken from the customer account when the domain is ordered and is updated when the account or the domain contacts are changed in the client area. The customer must keep it accurate and complete (Terms of Service, Section 5.1).
3. Verification
- The e-mail address of the account is verified before an order is processed.
- The identity and country of the account holder are checked against the payment data. Orders that the fraud review flags are not activated until an identity check through the payment provider has been completed (Privacy Policy, Section 3; infrastructure annex, Section 3).
- Eligibility rules of a registry (for example residence or establishment requirements of a country-code top-level domain) are checked by the registry at registration and at transfer.
- Registrant data is re-checked when a domain is transferred in, when the registrant is changed, and whenever a registry, an authority or a notice indicates that it may be inaccurate. Data that is not corrected after a request is treated as a breach of Section 5.1 of the Terms of Service, and the domain can be suspended until it is.
4. What is public
NovaNode does not operate a public WHOIS or RDAP service of its own. The public source is the registry's WHOIS or RDAP service, which publishes the data its own policy makes public: for every domain the nameservers, the dates and the registrar, and for registrants that are legal persons the organisation name. Registration data of natural persons is not published by NovaNode and is only shown by a registry where its policy requires it.
5. Access for legitimate access seekers
A person or body with a legitimate interest in the non-public registration data of a domain, including a competent authority, a CSIRT, or a party asserting a right that the domain name or its use infringes, can request it from contact[at]novanode.eu. A request states who is asking, the domain name, the data requested and the legitimate interest or legal basis for it.
- A complete request is answered without undue delay and in any event within 72 hours of receipt.
- Access is free of charge.
- NovaNode discloses the data needed for the stated purpose and nothing more, and records the request and the answer.
- The registrant is informed of the request unless the law or the request itself, where it comes from an authority with the power to do so, forbids it.
- A request that states no legitimate interest, or asks for more than the interest covers, is returned with the reason.
