The DNS editor in the client area

Manage the DNS records of a domain registered at NovaNode: where the editor is, which record types it supports, and how import and export work.

Domains registered at NovaNode are hosted on our nameservers, ns1.mikenetworks.com and ns2.mikenetworks.com, and you edit their records in the client area. You do not need an external DNS provider.

Where

Client area → Domains → DNS, then click the domain. The page lists every record with its name, type, TTL, priority and value, and a filter row at the top to show only one type.

Record types

A, AAAA, ALIAS, CAA, CNAME, HTTPS, MX, NS, PTR, SPF, SRV, SSHFP, SVCB, TLSA, TXT and URI. A zone holds up to 2000 records.

The two NS records at the top of the zone are locked. They make the domain resolve here and cannot be changed in the editor.

Adding a record

The Add a record row at the bottom of the page: name (@ for the domain itself), type, TTL in seconds, priority where the type uses one (MX, SRV), and the value. Add record saves it; the serial of the zone goes up and the change is live on the nameservers right away. Resolvers elsewhere pick it up when the old TTL has run out.

Export and import

Download your records gives you the zone as a file, useful as a backup before a bigger change or when you move the domain. Import records reads such a file back in.

Records the wizards write

Ordering NovaNode Mail or connecting the domain to a NovaNode Sites website writes the needed records into this zone for you. They show up here like any other record; the articles DNS records for NovaNode Mail and Connect your domain to NovaNode Sites say what each one does.
